A one-minute lesson on absorbing attacks
I’ve learned that villainy has no friends but many followers.
When it seems like you’ve fallen to the ground, take note of who’s quick to proverbially kick you. Never forget those names.
Malicious gossip without evidence is a weapon to your reputation because some think it’s better to be mad with the crowd, than sane in silence. It spreads like wildfire.
“It’s very easy to gain a bad reputation, for badness is easy to believe and hard to erase.” — Baltasar Gracián
The only real revenge is kindness — or silence.
By speaking well of those speaking ill of you, you’re making them look like a bully. In those instances, taking a blow is more beneficial than dealing one.
What you think could defend you, often makes situations worse. Like a ship in a storm, you just have to ride the waves, because for as many people as you persuade with your views, you’ll create an equal number of critics to it.
You won’t ever be all things to all people, all of the time. So don’t try.
Be authentic and let your enemies destroy themselves slowly.
