I don’t remember that part of his book exactly, but I have read it. It’s a great read. This though, was a custom campaign using age-old shock marketing. I think what you’re alluding to might be the whole ‘spray painting his own billboards’ kinda thing. WHICH IS A MASSIVE INSPIRATION for all of my work. I love that ‘thinking outside of the box’ marketing.
Coming soon I do have a blog that mentions that book of Ryan Holiday’s. It was a viral product launch that used his ‘trading up the chain’ method from the book to ensure viral success.
I think you’ll like that one… and sometimes it’s nice to see methods from a book in action.
