There’s no escaping this game

People who receive a certain level of success assume that they can’t ever go back. That their hard work has earned them their spot — and they’re entitled to stasis or higher.

However, life is a game of snakes and ladders. Periods of intense acceleration that skyrocket you to the next level, but also periods of unexpected hardship that set you back 10 spaces.

To assume you can’t ever fall down the board in life is naive… We all can.

Failure is for those who suffer a huge set-back and refuse to keep playing, citing the absence of fairness, or how the game of life is rigged.

Some take the easy road and seem to hit all of the proverbial ladders, allowing them to leap forward at a rate we can only admire. Meanwhile most have to take the long road, chipping away slowly, square by boring square.

Whatever your path in life, it’s reassuring to know that we’re all playing the same game and opportunities come to those who continue to roll, no matter what.
