Learning to let go

There’s a commonly held belief that drunk drivers survive car crashes easier than their sober counterparts.

As they’re hurtling through the windscreen, their limp, intoxicated bodies become fluid in mid-air. They hit the ground with zero rigidity and their body becomes one with the surface.

In an ironic twist of fate, their lack of control becomes the very thing that saves them.

This holds true in relationships, confrontations and in your career. If the resistance you create is stronger than the situation you’re hurtling towards, you’ll inevitably get hurt... More hurt than you would if you’d just gone with the flow.

The lesson then is to not pick a fight with certainty.

Relinquish control if your destination becomes inevitable. It wastes energy to fight it.
